No yard sales for me this weekend......No Goodwill, no antique shops, NO FAIR!
Fortunately, I still have a few goodies from weeks before that I didn't share last week. So..check out my loot and don't forget to stop over at Southern Hospitality to see everyone else's Thrifty Treasures!
This picture I picked up a few weeks ago for $2.00. It's a little more that I normally would spend on a picture but it was at the same place I got the drysink and I didn't want to push my luck by haggling! I love the colors and it goes great in my room.
These jars I picked up for $1.00 each. I have no idea what they are, I just liked them. Does anyone know anything about them?
This mirror was my first purchase this yard sale season. It goes perfectly with my new wallpaper! Dontcha just love all the scroll work! You may need to click on it to see it better.
And these are my Bobbsey Twin books! I paid 25 cents each. The copywrite on them is 1913 to 1921 and one of them has an inscription inside "Many Happy Birthdays" Dec. 14, 1928. Cool huh? I plan to use them in a display somewhere (don't know where yet!) along with the candy tin/bank.
That's it for now. Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Bonnie !
ReplyDeleteI love the books the best - 25 cents is so cheap ! I loved the mirror too. I am always amazed at what is out there !

I just love that picture, and I think $2 was a steal! I would love to find a mirror like yours for my porch too. I read the first couple lines of your profile before I read this post, and I thought hhmmm, how snooty, but I wanted to see what treasures you found. Then I saw the Bobbsey Twins books, and I thought, she's too young to care about those! So I went back to your profile. You're a riot!! I'm going to go snoop through your blog now!
ReplyDeleteHi Bonnie,
ReplyDeleteWow, you sure find some amazing stuff. Those pretty jars are AMAZING! I *think* they are called THAI BENJARONG JARS. But I am not sure, you should do a search online for Benjarong Jars or just Benjarong. They're supposed to be handmade and high quality!
I *love* your finds!!
I have two of those little jars, also. We got them as wedding favors from our friends at their wedding. They are from Thailand (the groom's home country).
ReplyDeleteGreat finds! Love the little jars and the mirror is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your fabulous finds!
Tina
Okay, I need to know which Bobbsey Twin books you got. I used to love those. I wonder how they have updated them now, as I was reading them in the 60s and very early 70s. And I had a few of the older ones...BT at the Seashore, at the Farm (?) and one other one. They were the first 3. I used to go back and read those and then read the newer ones.
ReplyDeleteUm...you better check your link in the post to Southern Hospitality...I think you got something wrong!!!!!!!!!!!! REALLY wrong
